Lectures by William Whitehead Watts on Geology, Physical Geography and 'Early Men'
Scope and Contents
Bound into six volumes are the lectures delivered by William Whitehead Watts on geology, physical geography and 'early man' as part of the University of Cambridge extension lectures (1882-1891) delivered in different towns across England. Some are presentation copies to Watts' parents and two volumes appear to have belonged to his brother, Thomas Isaac Watts. One volume with marbled cover and black spine titled Syllabuses Etc. 1882-1885 (MS Add. 10381/1) has clippings pasted into endpapers including a notice of the birth of Watts' daughter on 5 May 1890 at 52 Bateman Street Cambridge. The volumes are interleaved with notes, corrections, additions and illustrations.
