Scope and Contents

Papers and letters of Frank Stockdale, mainly relating to his work in the West Indies, in particular his appointment in 1905 as Mycologist and Lecturer in Agriculture at the Imperial Department of Agriculture in the West Indies, Barbados, and his transfer in 1908 to the post of assistant director to the Department of Science and Agriculture, and Government Botanist, in British Guiana [Guyana]. This includes correspondence with Sir Daniel Morris, Imperial Commissioner of the West Indies Agricultural Department.

Together with two journals of trips to Malta, 1934, and to Palestine and Transjordan, 1935, undertaken on behalf of the British Colonial Office, and single letters to Stockdale from Henry Marshall Ward, Sir William Thistelton-Dyer, Albert Charles Seward and Sir John Robert Chancellor.
