Scope and Contents
At a Court of George, Marquess Townshend, before William Stokes, gent., steward. Whereas it was found on 15 Nov. 1781 that Edward York had died seised of var. messuages and whereas at a Court 17 July 1783 Sarah York, widow of E., was admitted tenant and whereas at a Court of 17 March 1790 it was found that Sarah had died...Now to this Court comes Charles York (by Thomas York, his attorney), of Cambridge, who is the eldest son and heir of second Edward York and prays admittance to the messuages of his grandfather, viz. 3 roods in Little Hales and 4 acres of parture with liberty of foldage for 300 sheep...And he is admitted...Signed by William Stokes, steward.
