Scope and Contents

William Booth, son and heir of John Booth of Warrington, Sarah Brown of Tatton, Edward Langton of the Low within Hindley and Isaac Greene of Prescot release to Charles Gibson of Preston certain property in Ditton in his possession by virtue of indenture of bargain and sale made the day before the date of the present indenture. It is also agreed that proceedings for common recovery shall be taken in court at Lancaster against Charles Gibson by Richard Halsall of Prescot, who shall recover the property against him, to the use of Edward Langton and Isaac Greene upon trust and for the purposes mentioned in an indenture dated 8 December 1714 made between William Booth, Ralph Standish of Standish, Lancs., and John Hawerden of Sutton, Lancs., executors of the will of John Booth, and Edward Langton and Isaac Greene. Witnesses: for William Booth and Isaac Greene: Richard Eccleston, Thomas Barron; for Edward Langton: Mary Crane, Jane Starky, Mary Unsworth; for Sarah Browne: Edmund Harrisson, Alexander Harrisson. Four seals are attached. Hindley and Prescot are inaccurately described as being in Cheshire.
