Scope and Contents

Rough copies of Feet of Fines. William Symcock of London 21 July 1634 surrendered into the hands of John Lane, Steward of the Manor, certain property in Eyke to the use of John Kenygale of Kettleburgh, provided that if William Symcock pay to John Kenygale a certain sum before a certain date at a certain place the surrender was to be void. Subscribed by John Lane. On verso: Robert Heyward and Benjamyn Pynswryn surrendered certain property in Eyke, which they had from the surrender of John Wyles and John Crooke 1 March 1614, to the use of Robert Lane son of Robert Lane of Campsea Ash, Thomas Alston son of William Alston, Jerbasy Hubbard son of Jerbasy Hubbard, Hugo Marshe, Francis Marshe son of Hugo, Henry Wayth, William Bugg, William Wright and Nathaniel Heyward for supporting certain poor of Eyke and restoring the Church. They were admitted. It was found by homage that John Crooke since the last court held on the 16th March last had surrendered his lands to the use of William Wrighte, who sought admission. John Crooke had received the lands at a court held 25 September 1637. William Wrighte was admitted. A further line begins as follows: 'It was found also by homage that William Symcocke at the last court held 21 October 1637 surrendered ...'.
