Scope and Contents
Walter de Benewelle 'in Wynepol' [Wimpole, Cambridgeshire], confirms his gift to his son Walter of three acres arable land in the fields of Wimpole. One selion lies between lands of Robert Bullock and John Adam, abutting at one head upon Holedene. Another selion lies next land of Henry Atteston and abuts at one head on Arnygstrate [Ermine Street?] Three selions lie together upon 'Kottigges Akir' next land of Master Warin de Bassigburne [Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire], abutting at one head upon 'le bruck'. The remaining four selions lie together in the south field between lands of Geoffrey Cockil and John le Thechere, abutting upon Arnygstrate. Gift for life of the donee, with reversion to the father, his heirs and assigns. At Wimpole, deed poll, witnessed by John le Fraunceys, Lawrence de Wratteworth, William de Wratteworth, Walter de Couligge, Robert le Chauf, Geoffrey de Couligge, and others. Tag, seal wanting. Endorsed in later hands: 'Wimple', '8 E 3', and 'iij acres of lond lying in the feld of Wympull'.
