Gift of land, Wimpole, Cambridgeshire
Scope and Contents
Adam le Couper of Wynepol [Wimpole, Cambridgeshire] confirms his gift to Robert le Webester of Wimpole, to Robert's wife Ymany [Emma], and to the heirs and assigns of Robert, two selions arable land, containing one acre with appurtenances, lying in the north field of Wimpole. One selion lies between land of John le Fraunceys and land of Alan Cockyle, who holds from Master William Avenel, abutting at one head on land of Lawrence de Wratteworth and at the other on Quendenewaye. The other selion lies at Ressheplot between lands of Master Warenne de Bassi[n]gbourn and Adam in le Mor, abutting at one head upon W'lgaresweye. At Wimpole, deed poll, witnessed by Lawrence de Wratteworth, Walter Couling, Geoffrey Couling, Geoffrey Chaundeler, Walter de Benewell, and others. Pendant tagged white round seal with 'open shears' device. Endorsed in two seventeenth-century hands: 'Wimple' and '7 E 3'.
