Scope and Contents

Henry ate brok of Everesdon [Eversden, Cambridgeshire], 'magn' burg' Cantebr'', confirms his gift to John le Fraunceis of Wimpole, and to John's heirs and assigns, of one and a half rods arable land, of which two half rods [sic] lie together in the south field of Wimpole, between lands of John le Fraunceys and of Amy, daughter of Baldewyn clerk, one head abutting on the bank at the meadow-gate of the said John, the other on the 'cultura' of John Harecourt of Wimpole. The other half rod lies in the same field towards Orewell [Orwell, Cambridgeshire], between land which William Scheld of Wimpole holds in fee from Warin de Bassingbourn, and land of William Garlound of Orwell, one head abutting on the aforesaid bank, the other against land of William Faber of Wimpole. At Wimpole, deed poll, witnessed by Warin de Bassingbourn, John Harecourt, Lawrence de Wratteworth, Walter Coulyng, Walter Benewell, John Payn, William Wyleby of Wimpole, and others. Tag, seal wanting. Endorsed in two sixteenth- or seventeenth-century hands: '5 E 3 Wymple' and 'Wympoll'.
