Gift of land, Wimpole, Cambridgeshire
Scope and Contents
Robert le Chauf of Wynpol [Wimpole, Cambridgeshire] confirms his gift to John and Margery Wyther and to the Wythers' son John, two selions of land lying together in the north field of Wimpole at Holdene, next to land which William ate Made holds in fee from Lord Ralph de Wendeshore, one head abutting against Arnigst'te [Ermine Street?], the other against 'le Brok'; together with another selion in the south field, against Wimpole Way, next to land of Lawrence de W'tteworth and land of William Badekoc. Deed poll, witnessed by Lawrence de W'tteworth, Walter de Benewell, Robert Payn, William Wylebeye, Walter de Coulynge, and others. Tag, seal wanting. Endorsed: 'Wimple', and in a modern hand: 'Wimple / Cambridge No 4'.
