Scope and Contents
Certifying that whereas William Woollard, customary tenant of the manor of West Wratting, Cambridgeshire, surrendered on 5 Oct 1749 by the hands of Edward Haylock and in the presence of John Haylock, his windmill and cottage in the same manor, to the use of Elizabeth Freeman of West Wickham, Cambridgeshire, widow, to secure repayment of Â105, and whereas that sum was never repaid, the said Elizabeth is now formally admitted tenant to windmill and cottage at the unchanged combined annual rent of 5s 8d. Copy of court roll, examined by Charles Greene esq, steward of the court, and further examined by 'W M', duty stamp. Lords of the manor are the dean (Peter Allix DD) and chapter of Ely.
