Scope and Contents
John and Joan Hore, and Thomas and Joan Loundres, all of Elesfeld [Elsfield], Oxfordshire, lease to John and Joan Hardyman, and to their son William Hardyman, a watermill called Southcotysmulle, a garden to the south of the mill, and other copyhold property, rights of way, and rights of timber and clay, all in Elsfield, for their three lives, at an annual rent of 66s 8d. If William Hardyman dies within 7 years, then his brother Thomas is to take his place as the third life. Indenture, witnessed by William Mackenay, Lambert Forster, Henry Markham, John Heye, William Cok, and many others. Two pendant red round seals with floral devices, on tags cut from near-contemporary deeds. Sixteenth- and seventeenth-century endorsements of identification. In pencil at top-right: '12'.
