Lease and release, Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire
Scope and Contents
In consideration of #462, Samuel Spalding of Dalston, parish of St John Hackney, Middlesex, gent (nephew and devisee in fee of Ann Price, late of Hackney, deceased, widow of William Price, late of Dalston, clerk) conveys to Nicholas Paine of Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire, yeoman, 54 acres of arable land in the common fields of Gamlingay known as Middle Field and Potton Wood Field, together with an associated close of pasture called Wrens Park, all now in the tenure of John Page. Indentures, lease (for one year at peppercorn rent) and release both signed and sealed by Spalding, and witnessed by George ?Roadley [Hoadley?] and Thomas R Rayment; duty stamps. Release endorsed with receipt for consideration money, same date and signatures. Parchment supplied by J Brookbank of Furnival's Inn.
