Scope and Contents
In consideration of 5s, Francis Bass of Gamlingay, yeoman, leases a tenement with a pightle of pasture and some 26 acres of arable land in Gamlingay, currently occupied by John Howard, for one year to John Bass of Gamlingay, yeoman, at peppercorn rent as first stage in process of lease and release. No subsequent release appears to have been retained in this collection. Indenture, sealed and with the mark of Francis Bass, witnessed by Elizabeth Dymocke (her mark), Katherine Maddy (her mark), and Richard Lee. Endorsed: 'No 20'.
