In February 1821, Robert Negus of Upwell, Norfolk, farmer (3rd party), mortgaged for #500 various parcels of freehold land, including an estate for life in 17 acres in Cranemoor, Maney [Manea], Cambridgeshire, to Charles Metcalfe of Wisbech St Peters, Cambridgeshire, gent (1st party) as trustee for the mortgagee, John Palmer of Wisbech St Peters, gent. The capital sum has been repaid, in part through the sale of many of the said lands, and Palmer having since died, his widow Jane Palmer (2nd party) has been named his sole executrix. At her request, Metcalfe now reconveys the Manea property to Negus.
