Deed of covenant, Manea, Cambridgeshire
Scope and Contents
Henry Gascoyne of Benwick, Cambridgeshire, farmer, covenants with Charles Metcalfe of Wisbech St Peters, Cambridgeshire, gent, to produce title deeds to 23 acres in Maney [Manea] Cambridgeshire and Upwell, Norfolk, which he holds by virtue of purchasing an associated estate of 50 acres in Welney, Cambridgeshire from Metcalfe the year before. Metcalfe's interest is apparently that of a trustee for John Palmer of Wisbech St Peters, gent (see Doc 3772). Indenture, signed and sealed by Gascoyne, witnessed by Charles Metcalfe jnr and William P[ike] Bays; duty stamp. Parchment supplied by Walker of Bermondsey.
