Scope and Contents

In consideration of 5s, Robert Day of Cambridge, brewer, (son, heir, and executor of the last will of Charles Day of Cambridge, brewer, deceased) leases three tenements in the parish of All Saints, Cambridge, currently occupied by Elizabeth Jennings, innholder, Stephen Murriall, barber, and Thomas Deans, capper, for one year to Daniel Love of Cambridge, brewer, at peppercorn rent as first stage in process of lease and release. The Sun Inn lies to the north of the property, the White Bear Inn to the south, and the Dolphin Inn to the east. To the west is the High Street. The late Charles Day purchased the premises from Thomas Dickinson snr. Release: Doc 3725. Indenture, signed and sealed by Robert Day, witnessed by Oliver Lewis, ?Ferdinand Burleigh, and Nathaniel Jackson, duty stamp. Endorsed: 'NB. This deed contains the ex- / act measure & abutment of the / estate late Mrs Dressers in All Saints / Parish when in possession of Robert Day / The Length 124 Feet / Breadth West End 29 Feet 9 Inches / Ditto East End 31 Feet 6 Inches'. Enclosing a recognizance in #3,000 binding Robert Day to complete the covenants of lease and release, 1 July 1697, signed and sealed by Day, same witnesses, duty stamp.
