Scope and Contents
John Sparke of Cambridge bequeaths to his wife, Deborah all his estate for life, on her death the estate to be disposed of according to the Marriage Article between the testator's daughter Deborah and George Ashby date 24 June 1749; he appoints his wife, the Reverend [John] Symons of Bury, and his nephew Robert Maltyer executrix and executors; they are to pay to the testator's brother William Smyth a certain sum annually for life. Witnesses: Wigmore Whitkin senior, William Whitkin, Wigmore Whitkin junior. The copy is attached to a letter written by Samuel Alston of Leicester to John Sparke of Walsham, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, 3 November 1802.
