Scope and Contents

In consideration of #30, Robert Waterfield of Cambridge, carpenter, mortgages (through a nominal lease for 1,000 years at peppercorn rent) his 'small' freehold cottage in Walls Lane, Holy Trinity parish, Cambridge, lately occupied by Thomas Dilliston, cordwainer, to Eleanor West of Cambridge, widow. Nominal repayment date of capital sum and interest is 30 Oct 1754. Encloses Waterfield's bond in #60 to perform terms of mortgage. Both documents signed and sealed by Waterfield, witnessed by William Mott [gent, of Cambridge] and Chs Martindale, duty stamps. Receipt for the consideration on verso of mortgage indenture, same date and witnesses.
