Scope and Contents
[George] Wheeler Palmer of Chatteris, yeoman, and Sarah his wife (nee Palmer), and William Palmer of Chatteris, baker, acknowledge receipt from George Palmer of Chatteris, farmer, of the legacies bequeathed to Sarah and William Palmer of #12 apiece, by the will of Mary Skeele of Chatteris, spinster, deceased, bearing date 17 Apr 1766 (Doc 1719). Signed by G W Palmer, William Palmer, and Sarah Palmer (who makes her mark), and witnessed by Thomas Moore, addressed to the steward of the manor of Chatteris Ramsey or his deputy, duty stamps.
