Scope and Contents
Correspondence with the Admiralty and minutes of the Board of Visitors relating mainly to visitations, 1938-1941, 1943 and 1946-1956. There are also progress reports, 1953 and 1956, on the transfer of the Royal Observatory to Herstmonceux; correspondence with the Admiralty concerning the new Royal Warrant (1953) for the Board of Visitors; and a memorandum by H.H. Plaskett on the 'Argument in favour of a Wide Angle 100-inch Telescope'.
