Scope and Contents

Correspondence concerning chronometers, including a ledger titled 'Instructions and precedents relating to the Time and Chronometer Branch', containing letters and instructions regarding chronometers; correspondence relating to a water clock, with a map of the water supply to the clock; and correspondence with Lieutenant-Commander R.T. Gould on the repair, cleaning, insurance, exhibition and storage of the John Harrison chronometers, Nos 1, 2, 3 and 4, with a reprint of an article by Gould from the 'Monthly Notice of the Royal Astronomical Society', Vol. 89, No. 4 (February 1929), concerning 'The Society's Harrison Clock'.
