Correspondence on visitations, 1912 - 1937
Scope and Contents
Official correspondence concerning visitations. There are four volumes of letters, covering the years 1912-1919, 1920-1925, 1926-1929 and 1930-1935 respectively, and one envelope covering 1933-1937. The correspondents include the Admiralty; members of the Board of Visitors; various societies, including the Royal Society and the Physical Society; and catering firms. The letters include arrangements for the visitations, accounts for food and drink consumed, menus, lists of property and equipment acquired since the previous visitation, and lists of members of scientific societies.
