(1) General papers

Envelope containing memorandum and correspondence on the Indian observatories committee meetings, 1892-1899, with plans for new observatories at Kodaikanal and Bombay and a memorandum.

Envelope containing undated micrometer sketches.

(2) Papers relating to the Indian Government Observatory

Correspondence and memoranda relating to the supply of two 18-foot domes for the Kodaikanal Observatory, including plans and estimates, 1898.

Correspondence on the provision of a transit circle and clock at the Colaba Observatory, 1899.

Papers referring to the supply of reseau for the Kodaikanal Observatory, 1901.

Papers and private correspondence concerning an Assistant Director for the Kodaikanal Observatory, 1902.

Correspondence with the directors of Indian observatories, 1895-1900: C. Mililie-Smith, 1895-1900; Mr Naegamvala, 1896; Mr Moos, 1898; J. Eliot, 1898-1899; G.S. Forbes, Educational Service, 1898; and Major General Gore, 1898. There are also telegrams concerning the Indian eclipse of 1898.

(3) Papers concerning the Indian Observatories Committee

Resolutions passed at meetings of the Indian Observatories Committee on 26 October 1892, 20 July 1893, 17 July 1895 and 17 November 1897.

Correspondence and notices relating to the Indian Observatories Committee, 1895-1901.

Correspondence and papers concerning the Indian Observatories Committee meetings of January 1902 and the loan of a spectroheliograph to the Kodaikanal Observatory.

Notices of meetings of the Indian Observatories Committee, 18 February 1902, 13 May 1902, 28 July 1902 and 16 and 31 October 1902.
