Scope and Contents

Correspondence with W.M. Hutchings of the 'Colliery Guardian', 1874-1877, concerning the engraving and publication of a map and article on magnetic declination, including a 'Map showing the magnetic declination for 1874, England and Wales', printed as a supplement to the 'Colliery Guardian', 1874; and a 'Map showing lines of equal magnetic declination for 1877' from the 'Colliery Guardian', 29 December 1876.

Copies of articles on magnetic disturbances by William Ellis sent to 'Nature' for publication, 1878-1886.
