Correspondence concerning salaries of staff and other financial matters:

Correspondence between Sir George Airy and the Right Honourable G.W. Hunt M.P. discussing the Astronomer Royal's salary, 1875.

Correspondence concerning the Astronomer Royal's salary cheque for 1876.

Correspondence concerning an application by the Astronomer Royal to the Admiralty for the imprest of the petty cash to be raised to £600, 1876.

Correspondence concerning an application by A. Freeman, nightwatchman, for an increase in salary, 1880.

Correspondence concerning an application by J.R. Hind, Superintendent of the Nautical Almanac Office, for an increase in salary, 1880.

Correspondence concerning the payment to be made to Staff Commander Neville for duty at the Portsmouth Observatory, 1880.
