Scope and Contents
Correspondence between the Admiralty and the Astronomer Royal concerning the latter's requests for leave of absence from the Royal Observatory. The letters relate to two Astronomers Royal: Sir George Airy and Sir William Christie. The papers include a summary of the leaves of absence taken by each Astronomer Royal.
