Correspondence with tradesmen, including letters from booksellers; coal merchants; clock repairers; horologists; builders; chandlers; merchants; draughtsmen; machine repairers; instrument makers; parcel carriers; engineers; chemists; journeymen; decorators; shipping agents; masons; glass manufacturers; printers; slaters; telegraph wire manufacturers; telegraph companies; and the South Eastern Railway. The letters cover various instructions; accounts; requests; invoices; receipts; bills; tenders; circulars; routine repairs; and adjustments and improvements to instruments. There are also notes by E.J. Stone and J. Glaisher.
