The material includes papers on candidates for the Royal Society; correspondence on the printing of T. Catton's observations; Airy's paper on the effect of mountain passes; and reviews by Airy on various scientific works. The correspondents include W.H. Smyth, G.G. Stokes, C.V. Walker, J.G.S.
