Scope and Contents
The second part of a series on the expedition on board HMS 'Himalaya' to observe the total solar eclipse in Spain on 18 July 1860. The papers consist of correspondence in preparation for the eclipse, including letters by G. Fisher, R. Grant, J.R. Hind, W.S. Jacob, W. Lassell, U.J.J. Le Verrier, Sir J.W. Lubbock, Sir R. Murchison, W. Pole, C. Pritchard and O. Struve. There is also a paper on the eclipse by Johannes von Gumpach.
