Summarised account of a voyage of the East India ship 'Valentine', travelling from Alderney to Bengal and back, compiled by Robert Bishop, based on the journal of Robert Kerr, First Mate. Entries are daily and run from 5 January until 27 March (when the ship arrived at the Cape of Good Hope), continuing from 7 April until 18 June 1768 (when the ship arrived at Bengal, travelling via Ceylon). Entries for the return journey to England run from 4 October 1768 until 27 April 1769.
The entries are in tabular format, and record the ship's latitude, longitude and magnetic variation, with occasional remarks (principally on the sighting of land or the ship’s arrival into port).
