Astronomical Postage Stamps Issues: First Day Covers, 1975 - 1993
Scope and Contents
A collection of first day covers (FDCs) of postage stamps on astronomical subjects, donated to the RGO Archives. The collection includes stamps issued in Britain, Finland and India. Designs include Flamsteed House, the Greenwich Meridian, Halley's Comet, the Lapland Expedition of Maupertuis, Sir Isaac Newton, Vainu Bappu Observatory, the Armagh Observatory, Europe in space, and John Harrison's marine timekeepers.
