Scope and Contents

There is no gaol delivery.

  1. 1r. Richard Pope complains against John Legg of Witchford, labourer, in an action of trespass and ejection that on 5 Oct. 1725 he ejected Pope from four and a half acres of arable land and a rod of marsh land with appurtenances in Witchford and Wentworth which Mary Dickson, widow, had leased to Pope. Legg acquitted.
  2. 1r. Richard Pope complains against John White of Witchford, yeoman, in an action of trespass and ejection that on 1 Sept. 1725 he ejected Pope from two messuages, two cottages and two acres of pasture with appurtenances in Witchford which Anne Kilburn, widow, had leased to Pope. Lee acquitted.
  3. 1r. - v. 1r.-1v. Martha Clack, widow, complains against Jeremiah Sole of Stretham, yeoman, in an action of trespass on the case relating to a promissory note of 22 June 1719 at Stretham. Sole fined; to pay costs and damages.
  4. 1v. Robert Adkin complains against John Cole of Littleport, victualler, that he assaulted Adkin at Littleport on 1 Oct. 1725. Cole arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  5. 2r. William Browne complains against William Bugg of Haddenham, yeoman, in an action of trespass on the case that Bugg made a false and slanderous statement at the gaol delivery session of 7 May 1724 at Wisbech before John Raby that Browne feloniously took and led away a horse worth 40 shillings. Bugg fined.
  6. 2r. William Custance complains against Levitiam Wenham of Sutton, widow, in an action of trespass on the case that Wenham was indebted in the sum of ten shillings for the hire of a funeral pall, 10 Feb. 1725/6 at Sutton. Wenham fined.
  7. 2r. William Organer and William Sneath are summoned to answered James Hopson in an action that on 21 May 1725 they took three cows, 12 heifers and a calf belonging to Hopson from a place called the Church Way at Upwell. To proceed to the next session. [The bottom of this membrane is badly damaged; some text is illegible].
  8. 2v. John Wadmore complains against Francis Young of March, [?glazier], in an action of trespass on the case that Young was indebted in the sum of 40 shillings for work or labour rendered, 1 May 1725 at Chatteris. Damages to be assessed.
  9. 2v. Willima Bingham, gentleman, executor of the will of Francis Bingham, gentleman, deceased, complains against Roger Wiseman of Whittlesey, gentleman, in an action of debt that Wiseman was indebted in the sum of 40 pounds, 5 Apr. 1721 at Whittlesey. Wiseman fined.
