Scope and Contents
Contents cover presentment and election of Proctors and Taxors; appointments of examiners; lists of BAs and MAs; ordo senioritatis; promotions; creations; incorporations; letters testimonial and other documents passing the seal; graces not concerning degrees. Also noteworthy are:
pp.8-9: inserted copies of University's letter to Lord Bacon and Archbishop of Canterbury, 29 Jan. 1620/1, complaining of excessive prices charged by London booksellers;
p.37: 15 Dec. 1621 reappointment of a commission to consider the University Archives; 12 Apr. 1622; appointment of a syndicate to investigate properties belonging to the University; 12 Nov. 1621 appointment of delegates for an appeal cause;
p.39: 1622 petition to the Crown concerning the behaviour of London stationers over Lilly's Grammar; statutes governing it graced; copied in Proctors' books and now in printed Statuta, pp.372-5;

Bound in at end is a copy of the Parliamentary order of 5 Aug. 1645 allowing the continuance of the University's privileges until its rights are determined by both Houses of Parliament, and ordering that the Mayor is to take the oath as usual.
