Biographical / Historical

John Hulse of St John's College, who died in 1790, bequeathed his estate to the University for the following purposes: 1) maintenance of a Christian Advocate, 2) selection of an annual preacher, 3) annual religious prize dissertation and 4) establishment of three scholarships at St John's College.
