Scope and Contents

A very low and early tree bridge.

Scope and Contents

Sheppard's first experience of a tree bridge was in 1928/29 when he took six hurried steps before losing his balance and falling ten feet into the water. He was wearing leather soled shoes. He discovered tree crossing was less of an ordeal if made in rubber soled shoes or easier in bare feet.
