James Stuart (1843-1913); Trinity College 1862, BA 1866, MA 1869; Professor of Mechanism and Applied Mechanics, 1875-89; established the Mechanical Workshops and inaugurated the Mechanical Sciences Tripos; originator of University Extension lectures, 1873.
