Conditions Governing Access
All files are closed to scholars for 30 years from the date of creation as a condition of transfer to the University Archives. Additionally, files containing personal information are closed to scholars for 80 years from the date of creation, under data protection legislation.

Arrangement
The file references and titles are recorded as found. However, in certain cases, for files from the mid 1980s onwards, references have been changed or partly supplied by the archivist in consequence of seeming illogicalities applied in the Registry. Parts of references altered or supplied are indicated by addition of square brackets: [ ].
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The series was transferred from the Registry in batches: 1990, 1992, 1995, 2006, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2019. R1592 was transferred from the Vice-Chancellor's Office on 8 Sept. 2008. R1591/1977, R1591/1987/B and R1591/1990/C were transferred from the Vice-Chancellor's Office on 4 July 2014.
Appraisal
The files were appraised by Registry and University Archives staff prior to transfer to the University Archives.
General
This online catalogue was completed in August 2003 and emended on multiple occasions thereafter.
