Arrangement

The items in these two classes were arranged chronologically and assigned a running number, 1-83. Subsequently, the material was intellectually separated into two classes with DAR 229 for diplomas presented to Darwin and DAR 230 for correspondence relating to the presentation of the diplomas. The original running number and chronological arrangement was retained.
MS DAR 229 comprises the following items: 1-3, 5-8, 10, 13-15, 17-25, 27, 29-36, 38-43, 45-46, 48-50, 53-54, 56, 59, 61, 64, 66-67, 70-72, 74, 75-76, 79-82.
MS DAR 230 comprises the following items: 4, 9, 9A, 11-12, 16, 19A, 26, 28, 37, 44, 47, 51-52, 55, 57-58, 60, 62-63, 65, 68-69, 73, 74, 77-78, 83.
Item 74 appears in both classes. This item comprises one piece of paper. MS DAR 229:74 has been assigned to the recto and MS DAR 230:74 to the verso.
