Scope and Contents
The class comprises correspondence and papers of Charles Darwin's wife, Emma Darwin, and their children, William, George, Leonard and Henrietta, as well as a collection of family photographs from 1817 through to the 20th century. Contents: correspondence of Emma Darwin; correspondence and papers of William Erasmus Darwin; correspondence of George Howard Darwin and his wife, Maud Darwin; correspondence of Leonard Darwin; correspondence of Henrietta Emma Litchfield and Albert Venn Dicey; other correspondence of Henrietta Emma Litchfield; Darwin family photographs.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
DAR 219 contains items from a number of different sources. Some were presented by Lady G.G. Atkins in 1987 some by Mrs Sophie Gurney in 1981, and some by Ursula Vaughan Williams.
