Scope and Contents
This class comprises material relating to Charles Darwin's immediate family, his wife Emma and their children. Contents include: correspondence between Charles Darwin and his son, George Howard Darwin; correspondence between Emma Darwin and her son, George Howard Darwin; papers of George Howard Darwin including 1854 diary, notebook relating to James Clerk Maxwell's lectures, notes and correspondence with other members of the Darwin family; correspondence and papers of William Erasmus Darwin; correspondence between Charles and Emma Darwin; John Murray publishers' accounts; correspondence with Anthony Rich; material relating to the death of the Darwin's daughter, Anne Elizabeth (Annie) in 1851.
