- 1r. Elizabeth Benson of Ely, widow, answered Thomas Taylor in an action of trespass that on 23 Jun. 1673 she broke into Taylor’s close and house at Ely and broke a chest in his house worth 20 shillings. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

John Marchant of Chatteris, oatmeal-maker, answered Benjamin Kyte in an action of trespass that between 1 Aug. 1672 and 20 Aug. following his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass and crops growing in Kyte’s close situated neat to Shepherd’s Way at Chatteris. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Robert Glapthorne esquire of Whittlesey and Nicholas Davye of Whittlesey, husbandman, answered Ralph Gutridge in an action of trespass, assault and false imprisonment that on 21 Aug. 1674 they assaulted and imprisoned Gutridge for a period of two days at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 2r. Robert Bradford of Whittlesey, yeoman, answered Christopher Turner in an action of trespass that on 1 Aug. 1674 he entered Turner’s close at Whittlesey, and took and carried away 20 cart-loads of hay worth ten pounds. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 2r. Richard Prettiman of Upwell, gentleman, answered Henry Searle in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of six lasts of oats, 1 Jan. 1674 at March. The entry is incomplete.
- 2v. Joseph Reade of Chatteris, single man, and George Reade junior of Chatteris, single man, answered Carina Hetley, widow, in an action of trespass that on 7 Aug. 1674 they entered her property called the parsonage barn yard, broke 20 feet of stone wall and took and drove four cows from the yard. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 2v. Philip Bayly of Thorney, husbandman, answered Bennet Booty in an action of trespass on the case relating to the exchange and supply of a horse, 5 May 1674 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

William Bentley of Ely, husbandman, answered Robert Piggott in an action of trespass that on 1 May 1674 his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass and crops growing in Piggott’s close at West Fen, Ely, and that he took and carried away ten [? perches] of hedging or fencing and 30 cart-loads of soil. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Henry Humfrye of Chatteris, yeoman, answered Thomas Reade in an action that on 2 Apr. 1674 he ejected Reade from a messuage and five acres of land with appurtenances in Chatteris which Thomas Burchall and Elizabeth, his wife, and Mary Lambe, widow, had leased to Reade for term which had not expired. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Thomas Longe of Chatteris, yeoman, answered William Adkinson in an action of trespass that between 20 Jan. 1674 and 20 May 1674 his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass growing in Adkinson’s property at Chatteris, called the holt and ditch, damaging or ruining four cart-loads of hay lying in heaps, and that he cut down and took away five willow trees and five other willow trees. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

William Thew of Upwell, Norfolk, yeoman, and Robert Berrier of Upwell, executors of the will of Mary Rapier, widow, answered Thomas Life in an action of trespass on the case relating to an action of account during the lifetime of Rapier, 1 Dec. 1673 at Wisbech. Matthew Rands of Wisbech, husbandman, answered Thomas Hall in an action of trespass on the case that on 1 Dec. 1673 he slandered Hall at Wisbech by publicly saying, ‘Thomas Hall broke open my father Chessam’s [Joseph Chessam of Wisbech Guyhirn, husbandman] chest and stole seven score pounds.’ Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 4r. Robert Bradford of Whittlesey, yeoman, answered Christopher Turner in an action of trespass on the case that on 12 July 1674 he took a horse and foal from Turner’s close and impounded them in the common [pound] at Whittlesey. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

- 5v. Robert Riches of Chatteris, husbandman, answered Benjamin Kyte in an action of trespass that on 1 Aug. 1674 his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass and crops growing in Kyte’s closed at Doddington situated in a marsh called Beeslings. Riches fined; to pay costs and damages.
- 5v. Peter Williams of Wisbech, gentleman, is summoned to answer Nathaniel Hunt in an action of debt of 66 shillings relating to a bill of 9 May 1672 at Wisbech. Williams fined; to pay costs and damages.
- 5v. Stephen Whitluch of Whittlesey, apothecary, is summoned to answer Thomas Harrison, gentleman, in an action of debt of eight pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 25 Mar. 1674 at March. Whitluch fined; to pay costs and damages.

Humphrey Browne of Ely, gentleman, answered Edward Dunch in an action of trespass and ejection that on 26 Mar. 1674 he ejected Dunch from 20 acres of pasture, 20 acres of arable land and 20 acres of meadow with appurtenances in Ely which Fulwar Skipwith baronet had leased to Ducnh for a term which had not expired. Browne fined; to pay costs and damages.
- 6r. Walter Mayes of Ely, gardener, is summoned to answer Fulwar Skipwith baronet in an action of debt of 24 pounds relating to the rent on a lease of six acres of land with appurtenances in Ely, 24 Mar. 1672. Mayes fined; to pay costs and damages.

Peter Eger of Wisbech, husbandman, is summoned to answer Henry Henne, knight and baronet, in an action of debt of 57 pounds and ten shillings relating to the rent on a lease of 150 acres more or less in Sutton in Lincolnshire lately in the occupation of John Gardner, 16 Mar. 1665. Hannah Jenkinson of March in the parish of Doddington, widow, executor of the will John Jenkinson, gentleman, lately her husband, deceased, answered John Denn[er], gentleman, in an action of trespass on the case relating to a debt of five pounds, 17 shillings and 11 pence for diverse goods and wares, 23 Nov. 1672 at March. Jenkinson fined; to pay costs and damages.
