Letters from Charles Darwin, arranged alphabetically
Scope and Contents
This series comprise copies of letters and notes from Charles Darwin to various correspondents, together with copies of some incoming correspondence. The sequence is arranged alphabetically, with major series of correspondence to, for example, Asa Gray, John Scott and Joseph Dalton Hooker contained in stand-alone volumes. The material was gathered by Francis Darwin in compiling 'Life and letters of Charles Darwin'. See MS DAR 159-184 for a related series of correspondence received by Charles Darwin.
