  1. 1r. John Humphrey of Sutton, butcher, answered William Bird in an action of trespass and assault that on 6 Mar. 1658 Humphrey’s dog attacked Bird at Sutton. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  2. 1r. Thomas Richers of Ely, waterman, answered Thomas Tucke in an action of trespass on the case and breach of promise relating to four cart-loads of hay and a debt of 65 shillings. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  3. 1v. Thomas Chapman of Ely, labourer, answered Michael Halman in an action of trespass on the case and breach of promise relating to the sum of 40 shillings, 22 Dec. 1660 at Sutton. Chapman arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  4. 1v. Henry [Fynimor] of March, husbandman, answered Thomas Marshall in an action of trespass that between 26 Mar. and 9 Sept. 1660 his livestock trampled on and overgrazed the grass and crops growing in Marshall’s close at a place called Cranford in March, causing damage. Damages to be assessed.
  5. 2r. Cornelius Fuller of Ely, chandler, answered William Beesley in an action of trespass on the case that on 1 Mar. 1661 he slandered Beesley by publicly accusing him of stealing his cotton. Fuller fined; to pay costs and damages.
  6. 2r. Memorandum that William Auger, per his attorney, brought a bill against William Underwood, gentleman and attorney of this court, that between 20 Jan. and 1 Mar. 1658 his livestock trampled, consumed and overgrazed the grass growing in Auger’s close at Ely. Damages to be assessed.
  7. 2v. Robert Levitt of Ely, butcher, is summoned to answer Thomas Yarly, administrator of the goods and chattels of John Yarly who died intestate, in an action of debt of 28 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 3 Feb. 1658 at Doddington. Levitt fined; to pay costs and damages.
  8. 2v. Nicholas Gibson of Stuntney, yeoman, and John Green of Stuntney, husbandman, answered William [?Yarris] in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of two cows, 31 Aug. 1660 at Stuntney. Nicholas and John fined; to pay costs and damages.
  9. 3r. Richard Ingram of Doddington, husbandman, answered William Hanting in an action of trespass on the case and breach of promise to the sum of 40 shillings for diverse goods, 6 June 1660 at March.
  10. 3r. Henry Fynimore of March, husbandman, answered William Walsham in an action of trespass that between 26 Mar. and [29] Sept. 1660 his livestock trampled on and overgrazed the grass and crops growing in Marshall’s close at a place called Granford in March, causing damage. Damages to be assessed.
  11. 3v. Cornelius Fuller of Ely, chandler, answered Thomas Tuck in an action of trespass on the case that on 1 Mar. 1661 he slandered Tuck by saying in the presence and hearing of William Beesley and others that Tuck was not worth a penny. Fuller acquitted.
  12. 4r. Thomas Reeve of Wentworth, gentleman, is summoned to answer Francis Colame, executor of the last will and testament of Francis Colame, in an action of debt of 75 shillings which Colame borrowed from Reeve during his lifetime, 14 Dec. 1654 at Ely.   13. 4r. John Crannel, alias John Cranwell, of Ely, husbandman, is summoned to answer John Spencer and Mary, his wife and executor of the will of George East, in an action of debt of five pounds relating to a bill of obligation of 19 Feb. 1660 at Ely. The entry is incomplete; no outcome is stated.
  14. 5r. Robert Hawney of Wisbech, bricklayer, answered Ralph Webster in an action of trespass that on 25 Feb. 1659 he entered Webster’s house at Wisbech, and took and carried away one cart-load of stone, one cart-load of timber, one cart-load of firewood and several pieces of timber called a baulk. The entry is incomplete.
  15. 5r. Robert Myles of Ely, labourer, and Mary, his wife, answered Elizabeth Eaton in an action of trespass on the case that on [day and month not stated] 1661 Mary slandered Elizabeth by saying publicly that she was Stephen Howarde’s 'whore' and that she had a bastard child by him. The entry is incomplete.
  16. 5v. John Brumble of Tydd St Giles, waterman, alias mariner, is summoned to answer Richard Marlowe in an action of debt of ten pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 19 Dec. 1660 at Elm. Brumble fined; to pay costs and damages.
  17. 5v. Edward Wormwell of Wisbech, husbandman, answered Thomas Tisdale in an action of trespass and ejection that on 31 Mar. 1661 he ejected Tisdale from 40 acres of land and marsh with appurtenances at Tydd St Giles which Nicholas Penning, merchant, had leased to Tisdale for a term which had not yet expired. Wormwell arrested; to pay costs and damages.

John Tassill of Wisbech, husbandman, answered Thomas Smegergill in an action of trespass and ejection that on 11 Mar. 1661 he ejected Smegergill from a messuage, a stable and three chambers [?vaulted rooms] situated in Wisbech Castle called the Constable's Lodging which Matthew Wren [Bishop of Ely] and William Wren, gentlemen, had leased to Smegergill for a term which had not yet expired. Tassill arrested; to pay costs and damages.

John Tassill of Wisbech, husbandman, answered Thomas Smegergill in an action of trespass and ejection that on 11 Mar. 1661 he ejected Smegergill from a messuage, a stable, an orchard, two gardens and eight acres of land with appurtenances in Wisbech which Matthew [Wren], Lord Bishop of Ely, had leased to Smegergill for a term which had not yet expired. Tassill arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  20. 6v. William Hanting of Ely, Quaker, answered John Adams in an action of trespass and ejection that on 1 Jan. 1661 he ejected Adams from a messuage with appurtenances in Ely which Henry Brumsell, Bachelor of Divinity, had leased to Adams for a term which had not yet expired. Hanting arrested; to pay costs and damages.
