  1. 1r. John Neale of WIsbech, grocer, is bound to answer Nathaniel Hunt in a plea of trespass on the case. Thomas Swaine of Wisbech, gentleman, and Richard Murley of Tydd St Giles, yeoman, act as surety.
  2. 1r. William Deering of London, cordwainer, is bound to answer Thomas Richinson in a plea of trespass and assault. Thomas Butty of Ely, potter, and Gabriel Hutchinson of March, yeoman, act as surety.
  3. 1r. Thomas Sheppard of [?Dunninton], yeoman, is bound to answer Robert Maskew in a plea of trespass on the case. Thomas Sheppard of March, apothecary, and John Younge of Manea, husbandman, act as surety.
  4. 1r. Michael Morsell brings information on behalf of the Crown that John Garner junior of Wisbech, badger, relating to a corrupt bargain with James Burley of Leverington, gentleman, 21 Dec. 1661 at Wisbech. Garner fined.
  5. 1v. Henry Westley senior of Wisbech, husbandman, answered Thomas Mobbs in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of various horses, colts and fillies, 1 Sept. 1660 at Wisbech. Westley fined; to pay costs and damages.
  6. 2r. Francis [Spaty] of Downham, gentleman, answered Thomas Towle, gentleman, in an action of trespass and ejection that on 16 July 1662 he ejected Towle from a messuage at Downham comprising 180 acres of arable land and 40 acres of pasture with appurtenances which Matthew [Wren], Bishop of Ely, had leased to Towle for a term which had not yet expired. [Spaty] to be arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  7. 2r. Mary Pigg of Wisbech, widow, answered John Dankes in an action that on 1 Aug. 1662 she ejected Dankes from a messuage, 8 acres of land and 28 acres of pasture with appurtenances in Wisbech which Thomas Exton had leased to Dankes for a term which had not yet expired. Pigg to be arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  8. 2r. Edward Baylie of Isleham, yeoman, answered Oliver Barber in an action of trespass and ejection that on 1 Jan. 1659 he ejected Barber from a messuage with appurtenances, 20 acres of land, 20 acres of meadow, 20 acres of pasture and 20 acres of marsh situated in Doddington which Ralph Sperry had leased to Barber for a term which had not yet expired. Baylie to be arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  9. 2v. John Compton of Ely, blacksmith, answered John Stonham in an action of trespass that on 4 July 1662, together with [Nicholas] Morris of Ely, labourer, they removed a quantity of iron from his boat at Ely. Compton to be arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  10. 2v. Thomas Gunton senior of Wentworth, yeoman, answered William Reeve, administrator of the goods and chattels of Thomas Reeve, his [brother], who died intestate, in an action of trespass on the case relating to the payment of various sums of money during Thomas Reeve’s lifetime, 6 Apr. 1661 at Ely. Gunton fined; to pay costs and damages.
  11. 3r. Thomas Fincham of Outwell, gentleman, is summoned to answer Thomas Gore, cleric, in an action of debt of ten pounds, four shillings and ten pence relating to a bill of obligation of 1 Feb. 1660 at Wisbech. Fincham fined; to pay costs and damages.
  12. 3r. Stephen Dawling of Wisbech, cooper, is summoned to answer John Stringer in an action of debt of 40 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 2 July 1659 at Wisbech. Dawling fined; to pay costs and damages.
  13. 3r. Matthew Goake of Wisbech, husbandman, alias of Wisbech St Mary, is summoned to answer Peter Williams, gentleman, in an action of debt of eight pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 19 Oct. 1661 at Wisbech. Goake fined; to pay costs and damages.
  14. 3r. William Walsham of March, yeoman, is summoned to answer Robert Castell esquire in an action of debt of seven pounds and five shillings relating to the lease of 34 acres of pasture in March in the parish of Doddington, 20 Mar. 1657. Walsham fined; to pay costs and damages.
  15. 3v. Edmund Beehon of March, husbandman, answered William Chattris in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of a cow and a calf, 19 Aug. 1661 at Leverington. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  16. 3v. John Hawking senior of Emneth, Norfolk, yeoman, is summoned to answer Henry Ferronn esquire in an action of debt of 70 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 1 May 1662 at Wisbech. Hawking fined; to pay costs and damages.
  17. 3v. Memorandum that Thomas Jordan and Catherine, his wife, by their attorney brought a bill against Thomas Swaine, gentleman, that on 10 Jan. 1662 he with Robert Swaine of Wisbech, couper, assaulted Catherine with spades and daggers. The entry is incomplete.
  18. 4r. John Clement of Ely, yeoman, answered Robert Kilby in an action of debt of 11 pounds, 14 Apr. 1662 at Chettisham. Clement fined; to pay costs and damages.
  19. 4r. Memorandum that William Beasely by his attorney brought a bill against William Underwood, gentleman and attorney, in a plea of debt of 60 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 2 Nov. 1661 at Chettisham. Underwood fined; to pay costs and damages.
  20. 4r. William Woodward of Doddington, labourer, is summoned to answer Gabriel Hutchinson in an action of debt of nine pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 28 Apr. 1662 at March. Woodward fined; to pay costs and damages.
  21. 4r. James Hargreave of Leverington, butcher, is summoned to answer Nicholas Sanford, gentleman, in an action of debt of eight pounds and four shillings relating to a bill of obligation of 19 Apr. 1661 at Wisbech. Hargreave fined; to pay costs and damages.
  22. 4r. Richard Olliver of Wisbech, butcher, is summoned to answer Nicholas Sanford, gentleman, in an action of debt of four pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 17 Sept. 1659 at Elm. Olliver fined; to pay costs and damages.
  23. 4v. Joseph Fowler of Chettisham, gentleman, is summoned to answer Sarah Disse, widow, in an action of debt of 28 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 24 Apr. 1662 at Chettisham. Fowler fined; to pay costs and damages.
  24. 4v. Joseph Fowler of Chettisham, gentleman, is summoned to answer Cornelius Fuller in an action of debt of 40 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 17 Dec. 1660 at Chettisham. Fowler fined; to pay costs and damages.

  27. 5r. Francis Harvey of Wisbech, mercer, answered Anthony Sheppard in an action of trespass on the case that on 3 Oct. 1660 he maliciously and falsely accused him of theft before the justices at Wisbech. Harvey fined; to pay costs and damages.
  28. 5r. John Fowler senior of Chettisham, husbandman, answered Robert Cole in an action of trespass that on 6 July 1661 his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass growing in Cole’s close called Three Pingles at Chettisham. Damages to be assessed.
  29. 5v. John Fowler senior of Chettisham, husbandman, John Fowler junior of Chettisham, and Anne Steele of Ely, [condition not stated], answered Robert Cole in an action of trespass that on 27 July 1661 they entered Cole’s close lying in a field called Willow Tree Field in Chettisham, cut down, took and carried away the grass and crops growing there to the value of 40 shillings. Damages to be assessed.

John Wright of Chatteris, husbandman, answered Thomas Winters in an action of trespass on the case relating to the possession of 40 cart-loads of hay, one cart-load of turfs, 30 cart-loads of muck, a hog trough, a trough and an axle-tree of a cart, 28 Mar. 1662 at Chatteris. Wright fined; to pay costs and damages.
  31. 5v. William Lea of Wisbech, grocer, is summoned to answer John Middleton in an action of debt of six pounds, 15 shillings and eight pence which Lea borrowed on 1 Aug. 1662 at Wisbech. Lea fined; to pay costs and damages.
  32. 6r. John Grubb of Wisbech, tailor, answered Robert Breese in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of 20 coombs of hemp seed, 1 May 1662 at Wisbech. Damages to be assessed.
  33. 6r. John Grubb of Wisbech, tailor, answered William Bearsly in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of 20 coombs of hemp seed, 23 Mar. 1662 at Wisbech. Damages to be assessed.
  34. 6v. Richard Randes per his attorney brought a complaint against William Hunston of Wisbech, gentleman and attorney of this Court, in an action of non-payment of 40 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 16 Apr. 1660 at Wisbech. Hunston fined; to pay costs and damages.
  35. 6v. Joseph Fowler of Chettisham, gentleman, is summoned to answer Thomas Adkin and Anne, his wife, administrator of the goods and chattels of Michael Dunston who died intestate, in an action of debt of 30 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 27 Sept. 1659 at Ely. Fowler fined; to pay costs and damages.
  36. 6v. Thomas Peirson of Wisbech, gentleman, is summoned to answer Richard Randes in an action of debt of 40 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 16 Apr. 1660 at Wisbech. Peirson fined; to pay costs and damages.

William Reeve of the parish of St Sepulchre, London, skinner and administrator of the goods and chattels of Thomas Reeve, gentleman, who died intestate, answered Francis Corkayne, gentleman and executor of the last will of Francis Corkayne lately deceased, in an action of trespass on the case relating to the payment of a sum of money in the lifetime of Thomas Reeve, 1 Aug. 1660 at Ely. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  38. 7r. Philip Hutchins of Haddenham, yeoman, answered William Hantinge in an action of trespass on the case relating to a sum of money spent by Hantinge providing food, drink and lodging to Francis Hutchins, the father of Philip, who was imprisoned at Ely, 10 Oct. 1661. The entry is incomplete.
  39. 7v. Giles Wells of Wisbech, butcher, is summoned to answer Richard Pritteman, gentleman, in an action of debt of 17 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 22 Mar. 1662 at Wisbech. Wells fined; to pay costs and damages.
  40. 7v. Robert Cole of Chettisham, yeoman, answered John Fowler in an action of trespass that on 1 Apr. [?] his livestock trampled and overgrazed the crops and grass growing in Fowler’s close lying in a field called Townesend Field in Chettisham and that he cut down, took and carried away a cart-load of wheat, a cart-load of barley, a cart-load of beans, three cart-loads of peas, a cart-load of oats, and sheaves and shocks. Cole to be arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  41. 7v. Lawrence Watts of Wilburton, yeoman, is summoned to answer Thomas Page in an action of debt of five pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 12 Nov. 1661 at Ely. Watts fined; to pay costs and damages.
  42. 8r. Robert Neale junior of Manea, husbandman, Thomas Bird of Manea, husbandman, and William Wilcock of Manea, husbandman, answered Matthew [Wren], Bishop of Ely, in an action of trespass that on 3 Sept. 1661 they impeded or deprived James Best, a servant of the Bishop, in taking or requisitioning animals for the Bishop’s prise. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  43. 8v. John Neale of Wisbech, grocer, answered Nathaniel Hunt in an action of trespass on the case relating to the supply of 1200 weight and 400 pounds of tallow, 4 Nov. 1661 at Wisbech. The entry is incomplete.
  44. 8v. Elizabeth Richardson of Upwell, Norfolk, spinster, answered Joan Wilks in an action of trespass and assault that on 20 May 1662 she assaulted Wilks at Wisbech. The entry is incomplete.
  45. 8v. Henry Gates of Ely, labourer, is summoned to answer William Vye in an action of debt of 17 shillings and four pence which he borrowed on 1 Jan. 1661 at Downham. Gates fined; to pay costs and damages.
  46. 9r. Francis Burrowes of Ely, yeoman, answered James Gardner in an action of trespass on the case relating to the time and labour spent by Gardner in restoring or repairing the banks of the river at Fen Bank in Ely and Burnt Fen in Mildenhall, 20 Apr. 1660. The entry is incomplete.
