Scope and Contents
This is the author's fair copy of his autobiography. The copy was begun in May 1876, with several major addenda in 1881 [see DAR 149 for copy]. The text was published in 1887 as part of 'The Life and Letters of Charles Darwin, including an autobiographical chapter'. Charles Darwin's original text was edited by his son, Francis Darwin.
