Henry Sole of Ely, ropemaker, answered Anthony Wellings in an action of trespass and ejection that on 10 Dec. 1633 he ejected Wellings from a messuage, a shop and a garden with appurtenances in the parish of Ely Trinity which Richard Hewett had leased to Wellings for a term which had not yet expired. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  2. 1r. Henry Chester of Haddenham, cordwainer, answered John Towers esquire in an action of trespass that on 1 July 1634 he entered Towers’ close called [?Paps Close] at Haddenham, trampled on the grass growing there and broke a [?gate]. The entry is incomplete.
  3. 1v. [?Nicholas Barker] of Wisbech, [text obscured], is summoned to answer Susan Watson in an action of debt of 70 shillings relating to the lease of land. No outcome stated. [This section on the membrane is damaged and the entry is largely indecipherable].

  5. 1v. Michael Morsell of Wisbech, gentleman, answered Thomas Southold in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of eight cows and eight heifers called burlings, 19 Feb. 1634 at March. Morsell fined; to pay costs and damages.
  6. 2r. Edward Norton of Wisbech, cordwainer, is summoned to answer John John esquire in an action of debt of 40 pounds relating to a bill of obligation of 11 June 1632 at Wisbech. The entry is incomplete.
  7. 2r. William Pulter of Wisbech, gentleman, answered William Thomasine in an action of trespass on the case in an action of account for several sums of money, 12 Dec. 1629 at Leverington. The entry is incomplete.

  11. 3r. Peter Lawes of Newton, labourer, answered Henry Marslam in an action of trespass on the case relating to the possession of a ewe and a lamb worth 20 shillings, 14 May 1634 at Newton. The entry is incomplete.
  12. 3r. Richard Selbey of Wilburton, carpenter, is summoned to answer Nicholas Summan and Joan, his wife, executor of the last will and testament of Richard Barrett, lately her husband, deceased, in an action of debt of 20 pounds according to a bond of obligation of 8 Apr. 1630. The bond of obligation is recited. Selbey fined; to pay costs and damages.
  13. 3v. Thomas Arnold of Lakengale [?Lakenheath], Suffolk, labourer, answered Nicholas Coke and Thomas Flaunders in an action of trespass that with Robert Church and Andrew Rolfe, also of Lakengale, labourers, they assaulted Coke and Flaunders on 20 July 1634 at Ely and took and carried away 12 sheaves of sedge. The outcome has been crossed through.
  14. 3v. Robert Church and Andrew Rolfe of Lakengale [?Lakenheath], Suffolk, labourers, answered Nicholas Coke and Thomas Flaunders in an action of trespass that with Thomas Arnold of Lakengale, labourer, they assaulted Coke and Flaunders on 20 July 1634 at Ely and took and carried away 20 sheaves of sedge. Richard Gunton of Sutton, yeoman, answered Clement East in an action of trespass that on 20 Mar. 1631 he broke into Gunton’s house called Bramsell House and close called [Pightell] in Sutton and cut down 16 ash trees, 16 elms, 12 pear trees, 12 apple trees and eight plum trees, and took and carried away 12 cart-loads of wood or timber. The entry is incomplete.

Richard Gunton of Sutton, yeoman, answered Clement East in an action of trespass that on 20 May 1631 he broke into Gunton’s house called Bramsell House and close called [Pightell] in Sutton and took and carried away two props or beams hanging in his storehouse, a table, a frame, ten yards of wainscot and 20 pounds of iron and he cut down a number of trees growing there (elm, ash, thorny shrubs, pear, apple, plum and cherry trees) and took away six cart-loads of wood or timber. Gunton arrested; to pay costs and damages.
  17. 4v. Francis Lyon of Wisbech, husbandman, answered Nicholas Barker in an action of trespass that on 20 Mar. 1634 at Wisbech he took and rode away a horse belonging to Barker. The entry is incomplete.
  18. 4v. Francis Lyon of Wisbech, husbandman, answered Nicholas Barker in an action of trespass on the case relating to the lease of six acres of pasture with appurtenances in Wisbech and the sale of a horse, 30 Apr. 1633. The entry is incomplete.

  22. 5v. Ezekiel Pope of Wilburton, tailor, is summoned to answer Richard Pedley, gentleman, in an action of debt of 58 shillings relating to a bond of obligation of 1 Oct. 1633 at Wilburton. The entry is incomplete.

Thomas Arnold of Lakengale [?Lakenheath], Suffolk, labourer, answered Nicholas Coke and Thomas Flaunders in an action of trespass that with Robert Church and Andrew Rolfe, also of Lakengale, labourers, they assaulted Coke and Flaunders on 20 July 1634 at Ely and took and carried away 12 sheaves of sedge.   26. 7r. Jeremy Gilbert of Wisbech, butcher, and [?], his wife, answered William Ivatt in an action of trespass that on 1 May 1634 their livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass growing in Ivatt’s close and they erected a [swine house]. The entry is incomplete.

John Orwell of Ely, gentleman, answered [?Emma] Hubert, widow, in an action of trespass that on 1 June 1634 he entered her close called the Hills in Ely and fished in her pond called Nickans Water and took pikes and pickerels to the value of value of 100 shillings. Orwell arrested; to pay costs and damages.
