John Gates of Wisbech, [occupation not stated], answered William Hodgson in an action of trespass on the case that on 20 Feb. 1634 he slandered Hodgson by publicly saying, ‘[He] has made a fair piece of work. He will be hanged for he had a child and killed it. He took it by the heels and knocked the head of it against the walls.’ The entry is incomplete.

Richard Cullyn of Ely, baker, answered Robert Aspland in an action of trespass on the case relating to a debt of 12 shillings owed by Anne Bradford, widow, to Thomas Tuck junior for which Anne was arrested and placed in gaol in the custody of Aspland.
