  2. 1r. John Sowthe of Thetford, yeoman, answered John Hills, cleric, in an action of trespass on the case relating to the possession of cow worth four pounds, 20 Aug. 1624 at Coveney. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  3. 1r. William Rutter of Chatteris, labourer, answered William Roberts in an action of trespass that on 20 Oct. 1624 he took and carried away a lamb worth ten shillings from Roberts at Chatteris. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Edward Beamys of Ely, husbandman, and Joan, his wife, executor of the will of Joseph Burche of Ely, yeoman, lately her husband, deceased, are summoned to answer Thomas Buck, gentleman, in an action of debt of 50 shillings relating to the lease of a close called Beale Close, 14 Jun. 1624 at Ely. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  5. 2r. Robert Chapman of Upwell, Norfolk, [occupation not stated], is summoned to answer Sir Lewis Tressam baronet in an action of debt of 16 pounds and 13 shillings relating to the lease of 11 acres of pasture with appurtenances in Upwell, 12 Jun. 1616. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Nicholas Tego of Wisbech, husbandman, answered Anthony Lettyn in an action of trespass on the case relating to the possession of a number of household good, 10 Dec. 1624 at Wisbech, including: tables, chairs, cupboards, bedsteads, chests, a cheese press, wood and timber, a bible, a woollen wheel, a ladder, a scythe, a pitchfork, baskets [full list not transcribed]. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  7. 2v. Samuel Davys of Outwell, gentleman, is summoned to answer Arthur Taylor, gentleman, in an action of debt of 12 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 4 Aug. 1624 at Wisbech. Davys fined; to pay costs and damages.
  8. 3r. Thomas Scortred, [place of abode and occupation not stated], is summoned to answer Anthony Scortred in an action that on 6 Feb. 1625 he took 11 ewes and three lambs belonging to Anthony from a close comprising eight acres of pasture lying in Beakesmill Field. To proceed to jury trial.
  9. 3r. Nicholas Sare of Littleport, husbandman, answered William Croxon in an action of trespass and assault that on 9 Jan. 1625 he assaulted Croxon at Ely putting him in fear of his life. To proceed to jury trial.

John Levand of Leverington, husbandman, and Grace, his wife, executor of the will of Oliver Harryson, deceased, are summoned to answer Edward and Thomas Chamblayne in an action of debt of nine pounds relating to the lease of all Harryson’s dwellings and lands in West Walton, 26 Mar. 1623. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Richard Ayer of London, gentleman, answered Thomas Wensley in an action of trespass on the case relating a case heard at Westminster concerning Thomas Wensley, Henry Pytt and John Nott, and the sum of three pounds and six pence, 20 July 1622 at Wisbech. Nicholas Sare of Littleport, husbandman, answered Ralph Garrett in an action of trespass and ejection that on 4 Aug. 1624 he ejected Garrett from two messuages with appurtenances in Littleport which Sir Miles Sandys baronet and Miles Sandys esquire had leased to Garrett. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  13. 4v. Thomas Wilson of Emneth, Norfolk, yeoman, answered Ralph West in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of 20 sheep, 22 lambs and two cattle, 1 July 1624 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Thomas Freeman of Ely, miller, alias of Wereham, Norfolk, is summoned to answer Nicholas Ryder and Elizabeth, his wife, administrator of the goods and chattels of Henry Freeman of Wereham, Norfolk, miller, lately her husband, who died intestate, in an action of debt of 12 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 3 Dec. 1613 at Ely. Thomas Freeman fined; to pay costs and damages.

Memorandum that Stephen Bateman brought a bill against Miles Sandys esquire, Bailiff of the Liberty and Justice of this court, relating to a bill of obligation between John Reston of Soham, gentleman, and George Forster, gentleman, in the sum of four pounds.   18. 6r. Thomas Scott of Wisbech, miller, answered Thomas Love senior in an action of trespass that on 28 Oct. 1624 he took two horses from Love’s close in a field in Wisbech called East Field. There is discussion of the place and ownership of various pieces of land. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
  19. 7r.-v. Robert Lightfoote of Thetford, yeoman, answered Susan Briggs, widow, in an action of debt of 12 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 9 Apr. 1620 at Ely. The bond of obligation is recited. To proceed to jury trial.
