Letter from Adams, (Academy Assistance Council, Clare Market, London), 15 Feb. 1936

 Item
Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.7653/1/A/14

Scope and Contents

Writing from the Academic Assistance Council, Adams encloses the letter he has received from Michael Hansen [Hansson?] of the Nansen [International Office for Refugees] answering Rutherford's about Nobel prizes of [1936 January] 30. Feels that the only course is polite acknowledgement and the expression of the hope that the Prize Committee will give the matter very careful consideration over the next year, which Adams will do on his behalf if Rutherford wishes. [The locations of Rutherford's January 30 letter and Hansen's reply are not presently known but from the text of MS Add.7653/1/A/15 these would probably relate to the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to the AAC for its funds.]
