Letter to Adams, Walter , 30 Apr. 1934
Scope and Contents
Rutherford encloses an amended report (in response to the previous letter), which he has signed. Adams's report excellent and explains the alterations he has made. One part he has deleted and substituted with a general phrase due to the undesirability of special reference to institutions or the nature of the work; Rutherford wants to base the appeal on broad grounds of academic liberty. Regretfully he feels that the history of the Hugenot refugees is an unhappy parallel. Other changes Rutherford has made are minor.
A carbon-paper copy typescript letter written on rectos only, left unsigned by Rutherford.
